Adds Nutrition Services and
Linda Germaine-Miller as Nutritionist
Weymouth, MA: The Commonwealth Atrius Cancer Center (CACC) in Weymouth, Mass., recently launched Nutrition Services for patients and named Linda Germaine-Miller, RD as the on-site nutritionist. CACC, a collaboration between Commonwealth Hematology-Oncology (CHO) and Atrius Health, is the area’s first comprehensive, freestanding cancer center with all non-surgical cancer services under one roof.
Germaine-Miller also serves as a nutritionist with Harvard Vanguard Medical Associates in Wellesley. She is a facilitator in the Personal Health Improvement program at Harvard Vanguard.
Germaine-Miller received her undergraduate degree from Cornell University and her graduate degree from Boston University. She is a Registered Dietitian with the American Dietetic Association and is a Certified Diabetes Educator.
“While everyone should try to maintain a healthy lifestyle, including a proper diet and ongoing physical activity, this can be especially important to cancer patients,” said Claire Y. Fung, M.D., Director of Radiation Oncology at CACC. “Linda will be a key part of our team at CACC as she provides nutritional counseling tailored to meet the unique needs of each patient. Nutritional balance can help patients derive maximum benefits from cancer treatments and promote their sense of well-being during treatments and beyond.”

The radiation oncology suite, operated by Harvard Vanguard Medical Associates (an affiliate of Atrius Health), offers the area’s most advanced radiation therapy.
Commonwealth Hematology-Oncology (CHO), with offices and clinical sites throughout Massachusetts, is the largest private practice cancer care network in New England. Known for its leadership in community-based cancer care, CHO physicians have been caring for patients for over three decades. CHO was the first group practice in the state to develop treatment guidelines for specific cancers, the first to develop a computerized software program for chemotherapy ordering, the first to create a patient advocacy program, and the only area practice to be selected by the National Cancer Institute to offer a community-based clinical trials program.
